Global Stock Markets Exhibit Mixed Trends Amid Tech Stock Sell-Off

New york: Mixed dynamics were observed in global stock markets, APA-Economics reports. On March 30, the Dow Jones in U.S. stock markets increased by 0.11% to reach 45,216.14 points. Meanwhile, the S and P 500 decreased by 0.39% to 6,343.72 points, and the Nasdaq Composite fell by 0.73% to 20,794.64 points. The NYSE Composite also declined by 0.24%, and the S and P/TSX Composite decreased by 0.08%.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the mixed dynamics in global markets are mainly related to increased selling of technology stocks in the U.S. and investors taking profits. Investors have preferred selling to 'lock in' profits in technology stocks that had previously risen rapidly, leading to a decline in indices.

In European markets, a positive trend was observed. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose by 0.65% to 5,541.79 points, with the FTSE 100 increasing by 1.61% to 10,127.96 points, and the DAX gaining 1.18% to 22,562.88 points. Additionally, the CAC 40 rose by 0.92%, and the IBEX 35 increased by 0.99%.

In contrast, declines were observed in major indices within the Asia-Pacific region. The Nikkei 225 fell by 1.35% to 51,184.19 points, while the TOPIX declined by 0.96%, Hang Seng by 0.51%, and CSI 300 by 0.58%. The MSCI Asia Pacific index faced a notable decline of 2.12%. However, the S and P/ASX 200 increased by 0.56%.

The decline in Asian markets is linked to concerns over the pace of economic growth in the region, with investors adopting a more cautious stance amid rising global risks.
