Helsinki Azerbaijan House Fosters International Dialogue on Youth and Cultural Exchange

Helsinki: On July 1, representatives from various countries gathered as guests of the Helsinki Azerbaijan House for the 'Nordic-Baltic and Caucasus Dialogue 2026' international platform held in Finland. Speaking at the meeting organized at the invitation of the Azerbaijan House, the organization's head, Ulviyya Jabbarova, briefed participants on the history and activities of the Azerbaijan House. She highlighted ongoing projects promoting Azerbaijani language, culture, and values in Finland, and stressed the importance of expanding international partnerships, particularly in education, culture, youth policy, and civil society.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, a video was showcased highlighting the Azerbaijan House's activities and future plans. Asif Asgarli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Student Youth Organization, presented on "Sustainable Youth Policy in Azerbaijan," outlining the country's initiatives in youth employment, education, gender equality, and sustainable development. Gulnara Baghirova, executive director of the same organization, emphasized Azerbaijan's historic milestone as the first Muslim country to grant women voting rights and highlighted urban development projects supported by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.

Valeriia Skaldina, representing Femina ry, discussed international cooperation and media literacy, while Yevgeniya Senni Skaldina emphasized youth engagement and critical thinking. Marianna Lipnicka from the Latvian NGO Bioville spoke on environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Participants from Finland, Azerbaijan, Latvia, and other countries exchanged experiences on youth policy and international cooperation, discussing joint project preparations and partnership expansions.

The event was organized by Femina ry and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, with local coordination by Mona Savojifar and Aylin Jabbarli.
