Inter Milan Clinches 21st Serie A Title with Victory Over Parma

Milan: Inter Milan clinched its 21st Serie A title with three rounds to spare on Sunday after a 2-0 win over Parma at San Siro, sealing their second league title in three seasons. Goals from Marcus Thuram and Henrikh Mkhitaryan secured the victory for Inter, who entered the match with a nine-point lead over second-placed Napoli. Napoli's 0-0 draw with Como on Saturday meant that a single point for Inter was enough to confirm the title.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the home side dominated early but found it difficult to break down Parma until first-half stoppage time. Piotr Zielinski's pass found Thuram, who fired home to give Inter the lead. Inter continued their pressure after the break and doubled their lead in the 80th minute when Lautaro Martinez set up substitute Mkhitaryan for a close-range finish.

Inter's coach Cristian Chivu expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. "I'm happy for these players, for the club and for the fans, because they had to put up with the narrative and the teasing from those who always tried to downplay the work they had done," Chivu said. "The team did well to roll up their sleeves, rebuild, and find the right motivation to have a competitive season."

Elsewhere in Serie A, AC Milan lost 2-0 to Sassuolo despite playing more than an hour with 10 men, while Juventus was held to a 1-1 draw at home by already-relegated Hellas Verona. These results leave the race for the Champions League places wide open, with just nine points separating Napoli and sixth-placed Roma, which has a game in hand.
