TEHRAN—The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has announced the official currency exchange rates for August 18, as detailed by Trend via the CBI. The update reflects fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, with 18 currencies showing an increase in value and 26 experiencing a decline from the previous day.
According to Trend News Agency, the official exchange rate is now set at 406,748 Iranian rials for one US dollar and 447,496 rials for one euro, indicating slight shifts from August 17’s rates. The CBI employs the SANA system for currency exchanges, which listed the euro at 541,482 rials and the US dollar at 490,957 rials. Additionally, under the NIMA system, used for a portion of foreign earnings from exports, the euro and US dollar are priced at 498,143 and 451,662 rials respectively. Meanwhile, the black market rates for the currencies stand significantly higher, with the US dollar trading between 576,000 and 579,000 rials, and the euro between 653,000 and 638,000 rials.
