Cernobbio, Italy – The prestigious Cernobbio Forum marks its 50th anniversary with a high-profile gathering of international leaders to discuss competitive strategies for the future, hosted by the Italian think tank, The European House-Ambrosetti.
According to Trend News Agency, the event, taking place from September 6-8 at Villa d'Este on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, has attracted notable figures including Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and Queen Rania of Jordan. Italian President Sergio Mattarella also contributed to the occasion, addressing participants via a video message.
The forum has become a cornerstone event for discussing significant global economic and societal issues. This year's edition will see participation from heads of state and government from six countries, leaders from 13 local administrative bodies, and 11 Italian ministers. In total, guests from 27 countries will engage in dialogues on a range of topics spanning political, academic, institutional, and business spheres.
Annually since 1975, the Cernobbio Forum has facilitated discussions on pressing global matters. The first day of the forum traditionally focuses on global economic, geopolitical, scientific, and technological issues. The subsequent days shift focus towards Europe and Italy, respectively, dealing with vital regional and national matters involving extensive participation from governmental and financial leaders.
This year, the event also features a special photo exhibition entitled "50-year view of the world," commemorating the forum's rich history of fostering international dialogue and decision-making. The socio-economic impact of the forum on Italy is notably significant, contributing approximately four million euros to the local economy and impacting the country's GDP by two million euros.
