Political Analyst Critiques Armenian Prime Minister’s Contradictory Policies

YEREVAN — A political analyst has highlighted a series of inconsistencies between the public statements and actions of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which are causing significant instability in the country's domestic and international dealings, especially concerning relations with Azerbaijan.

According to Trend News Agency, Azer Garayev, a seasoned political analyst, expressed concerns about the discrepancy between Pashinyan’s assertions of pursuing peace and the reality of actions that seem to prepare for new conflicts. "While Pashinian claims to be steering Armenia's domestic and foreign policies towards peace, in reality, it is becoming clear that these policies are preparing the ground for a new conflict with Azerbaijan," Garayev stated. He emphasized that the revanchist mindset within Armenian society, fueled by Pashinyan's rhetoric, contradicts the prime minister's peaceful declarations.

Garayev further criticized Pashinyan’s manipulation of constitutional reforms and territorial claims, labeling them as unrealistic and serving as political tools against Azerbaijan. He noted that such strategies undermine the peace process and could potentially threaten Armenia’s own statehood if they lead to new aggression.

The analyst also pointed out the misuse of financial aid intended for Karabakh Armenians, suggesting that the funds provided by Western countries are not reaching those in need due to mismanagement. "Most of this money is not actually directed to their needs," Garayev explained, adding that this manipulation of aid reveals the true intentions of the Armenian government to bolster its economic and military standing rather than genuinely supporting the Karabakh Armenians.

Additionally, Garayev highlighted the ongoing political influence of ex-separatist leaders within Armenia, which contradicts Pashinyan's assurance of a unified government. This situation further complicates Armenia’s internal politics and its approach to resolving conflicts with Azerbaijan.

The commentary concluded with a call for Armenia to genuinely commit to peace and reconciliation with Azerbaijan, emphasizing that lasting stability in the region can only be achieved through genuine efforts to integrate and respect the rights of Karabakh Armenians within Azerbaijani sovereignty.
