Baku: Kazakhstan transported 115 thousand tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in February this year, as reported by KazTransOil, the national operator of Kazakhstan's main oil pipelines. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this represented an 8.5% increase in the transit of Kazakh oil via BTC compared to January.
Currently, the BTC pipeline primarily transports oil produced from Azerbaijan's Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. Additionally, other regional crude oil and condensate volumes from the Caspian Sea, including contributions from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and other volumes produced by SOCAR in Azerbaijan, are also transported via BTC.
The shareholders of BTC Co. include bp with a 30.1% stake, SOCAR with 32.97%, MOL with 8.90%, TPAO with 6.53%, Eni and TotalEnergies each holding 5%, ITOCHU with 3.4%, ONGC Videsh with 3.1%, and both ExxonMobil and INPEX with 2.5% each.
