Baku: In celebration of Armed Forces Day and the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Army, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, along with other officials, conducted visits to the Alley of Honors, Victory Park, and the Military Memorial Cemetery.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, accompanied by the Ministry's senior leadership, initiated the commemorative visits at the Alley of Honors. Here, they laid a wreath at the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, paying profound tribute to his memory. This gesture was a mark of respect for Aliyev's significant contributions to the nation.
The leadership also paid homage to the grave of the distinguished ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva. Flowers were laid, and her memory was honored with deep respect, acknowledging her contributions to the field of medicine and her lasting legacy.
The delegation proceeded to Victory Park and the Military Memorial Cemetery, accompanied by a guard of honor. Wreaths were laid at the monuments, serving as a tribute to the memory of the heroes who have contributed to the nation's history and defense. The visits underscored the Ministry's commitment to honoring those who have played pivotal roles in the country's history.
