Minister Announces Increase in Tax Revenues from Non-Oil Sector

Baku: The share of tax revenues from the non-oil sector has seen a significant increase, rising by 2.2 percentage points over a span of seven years. This growth was highlighted by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov during his address at the forum titled 'A Look into the Future of the Tax System: A New Management Model and Data-Driven Decisions.'

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Jabbarov noted that the share of tax revenues from the private sector of the non-oil and gas sector in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached 9.9% in 2025, compared to 2018. The forum emphasized the ongoing evolution of the tax system and the importance of data-driven decisions in shaping the future economic landscape.

The minister further elaborated that last year, the overall share of tax revenues in GDP was 12.7%. Within the non-oil and gas sector specifically, the tax revenues reached 13% of the non-oil GDP. This marks an increase of 3.4 and 2.4 percentage points, respectively, compared to figures from 2018. These statistics underscore the growing contribution of the non-oil sector to the nation's economy and the effectiveness of strategic economic policies.
