Muslim Leaders Call for Collective Action Against Israel’s Treacherous Attack, Expansionist Agenda

Doha: Condemnations from the Muslim world mounted on Monday as Qatar hosted an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, where state leaders condemned Israel's strike on Hamas negotiators in Doha. Addressing the summit, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani described the Israeli attack as "cowardly and treacherous," noting that Hamas leaders had been studying a US ceasefire proposal presented to them by Qatar and Egypt at the time of the attack.

According to TRTworld.com, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi warned that Israel's actions risk undermining current peace agreements. He stated that the ongoing situation threatens regional security and obstructs prospects for new peace agreements, potentially undoing historic peace-building efforts.

Jordan's King Abdullah II called for a robust regional response, emphasizing that aggression against Qatar must be met with a clear, decisive, and deterrent stance. Meanwhile, Iran's president labeled Israel's attack as "a blatant act of terrorism," urging Islamic unity in response.

Qatar, a key mediator in the conflict, has accused Israel of sabotaging peace chances and practicing "state terrorism." Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Israel's attack on Doha, advocating for an Arab-Islamic task force to combat Israel's "expansionist designs," while also urging the UN to suspend Israel.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called for ending diplomatic and trade ties with Israel, supporting the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla, and described the air strikes on Doha as reckless provocations threatening regional security. He emphasized the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, highlighting the destruction and suffering of its people.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed concern over Israel's airstrikes on Qatar and called for de-escalation in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. He praised Qatar's mediation efforts and stressed the importance of resuming negotiations for a lasting ceasefire.

Bangladesh condemned the Israeli attack as an affront to the dignity of the entire Muslim Ummah. The Foreign Ministry statement called for coordinated measures by all OIC member states to deter further Israeli aggression, highlighting Israel's disregard for international law.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized the broader implications of the Palestinian issue, urging the UN Security Council to take firm measures to ensure accountability. He reiterated Indonesia's support for the realization of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, standing in solidarity with Qatar and Palestine.
