Baku: National identity and secularism are being included among the main principles of state policy in the field of general education, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News agency, this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law on General Education discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis. The draft suggests that national identity and secularism, focusing on the establishment and development of a secular general education system based on the preservation of national and universal values, will be integral to the state policy in education.
The proposed amendment emphasizes the importance of ensuring the dialectical unity of these values within the educational framework. The draft law was put to a vote and successfully adopted in the first reading, signaling a significant shift in the educational landscape of Azerbaijan.
