Baku: Political consultations were held on June 24 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcel de Vink led the Dutch delegation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation. The consultations also addressed regional and international issues, underscoring the significance of reciprocal official visits and maintaining regular contacts, as well as holding meetings during international events to deepen political dialogue.

Both sides highlighted the priority areas for expanding economic cooperation and stressed the importance of fostering people-to-people ties through enhanced collaboration in culture, science, and education. The Azerbaijani delegation briefed the Dutch participants on the regional situation, including the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process and the ongoing restoration, reconstruction, and demining activities in the liberated territories.

The discussions also covered mutual positions on international issues and cooperation within multilateral platforms, alongside mutual support for candidacies. The consultations concluded with an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During his visit, Fariz Rzayev engaged with various Dutch officials and participated in a roundtable discussion organized by leading think tanks.
