Lankaran: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the inauguration of the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center. Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev provided an overview of the facilities to the president during the event.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the institution's foundation dates back to 1969 when it was established as the Lankaran Technical Vocational School. In 2018, a merger with the Lerik Vocational School and Lankaran Vocational Lyceum led to the creation of the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center. Since 2024, it has functioned as a public legal entity. The Center is equipped with modern infrastructure, including diverse training facilities, laboratories, workshops, and a dormitory.
The Center provides education to 962 students enrolled in 55 groups across 42 specialties for the 2025/2026 academic year, with 385 of them being women. It offers training in fields such as tourism, agriculture, industry, services, IT, and alternative energy. Newly established specialties include electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, computer networks, and solar panel installation.
The Center also features a comprehensive material and technical base, enabling it to offer vocational training at various levels. It employs 138 individuals and collaborates with nearly 30 public and private institutions. This cooperation involves joint training programs, industry specialist teaching, and innovative project implementations.
