President Ilham Aliyev Strengthens Ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina Leadership During Key Meeting.


BAKU: On November 11, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Denis Becirovic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Željka Cvijanovic, a member of the Presidency, APA reports. The meeting underscored the friendly relations between the two nations and their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Denis Becirovic expressed gratitude for the invitation to COP29 and congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the event. He reaffirmed the determination of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue mutually beneficial cooperation with Azerbaijan, recalling with pleasure President Aliyev’s official visit to Sarajevo. The Chairman noted the recent intensification of delegation visits and emphasized the significant development he witnessed in Azerbaijan since his previous visit as Speaker of Parliament.

Denis Becirovic highlighted the resolution adopted by the parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of Azerbaijan’s territorial inte
grity and sovereignty during his tenure as Speaker, underscoring it as a testament to the friendship between the two countries. He also emphasized the importance of developing economic cooperation and expressed interest in Azerbaijani investment in various sectors, presenting proposals for collaboration in infrastructure and other fields.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked Denis Becirovic and Željka Cvijanovic for their participation in COP29 and described Bosnia and Herzegovina as a close friend and partner to Azerbaijan. He reiterated his gratitude for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s support of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and commended the resolution adopted by the parliament as a demonstration of their friendly relations.

The conversation also included discussions on expanding cooperation between the South Caucasus and Balkan regions, as well as collaboration in renewable energy, investment, and infrastructure. Both sides expressed hope that this meeting would contribute to strengthening the
bilateral legal framework and enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
