Ordu: The Turkish States History Museum from Metehan to Mehmet§ik has been inaugurated in the Turkish city of Ordu as part of a cultural initiative by the Metropolitan Municipality, marking a significant addition to the city's rich historical landscape. This museum offers an immersive exploration of Turkish history, showcasing busts and historical artifacts in a chronological display.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the museum's outdoor area features busts of the founders of the 16 "historically existing" Turkish states, along with their respective flags, symbolizing the enduring legacy of the Turkish state. During a visit to the museum, Samir Abbasov, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Trkiye, met with Architect Nihat Sen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and head of the museum, to discuss future collaborations.
The meeting emphasized the significance of creating engaging sections in the museum that illuminate the shared history of the Turkic world, featuring exhibits and sculptures based on various historical periods. A pivotal agreement was reached to establish corners dedicated to medieval Azerbaijani states that were instrumental in shaping the Turkic world's statehood. Additionally, plans include the erection of busts honoring Azerbaijani thinkers and a special section highlighting Azerbaijan's Garabagh Victory, a notable event in Turkic history.
The fruitful discussions also highlighted the expansion of cultural cooperation between the two regions, with plans for joint projects and the organization of an Azerbaijani Art Week in Ordu. The initiative to create dedicated sections for Azerbaijan at the Museum of Turkic States was praised by both the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and the regional Culture and Tourism Department.
During his visit, Samir Abbasov explored the museum's various sections and generously donated a newly published book on Azerbaijan's Garabagh Victory, further enriching the museum's collection.
