Baku: The draft law under discussion covers approximately 1.5 million children in preschool and general education institutions, as stated by Vafa Yagublu, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, during a public discussion. The discussion focused on proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information," and the Law "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information."
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yagublu highlighted that nearly 300,000 children aged up to 2-3 years are included in the preschool education system under this draft law. The proposed draft has been generally assessed positively, as it does not prioritize restrictions on social media as the main area of regulation. Furthermore, schools have been integrated into digital education platforms since this year, and groups and social platforms related to the educational process are not considered a direct component of this draft.
Yagublu also mentioned that amendments related to student behavior rules have been approved for the new academic year. From this year, the use of mobile phones in schools is prohibited, and the implementation of control mechanisms regarding this matter has commenced.
