State Employment Agency Chairman Reviews Operations at Chovdar Gold Mine


Dashkasan — Sadig Aliyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan, recently toured the Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area (CIRPA) operated by AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company, APA reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aliyev examined various aspects of the mining and processing operations at the Chovdar gold mine. This included observing the processing of precious metals and the management of tailings at the CIRPA site, along with the working conditions at the Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) Plant. This facility utilizes advanced Heap leach pad (HLP) and Carbon-in-leach technologies in its operations.



The visit highlighted AzerGold CJSC’s significant role in boosting employment within the Ganja-Dashkasan economic region, establishing over 1,000 permanent jobs through its operations and subsidiaries, and a total of 2,400 jobs in cooperation with long-term contractors. In the current year alone, 44 local residents from the Dashkasan region secured employment through the efforts of AzerGold CJSC and its associated contractor companies, as coordinated by the State Employment Agency.



Furthermore, Aliyev learned about AzerGold’s commitment to prioritizing the hiring of local residents, including family members of martyrs and war veterans, ensuring a fair and electronic recruitment process that assesses candidates based on their skills and knowledge. Additionally, AzerGold has engaged in a joint project with the State Employment Agency aimed at increasing female employment in the district, providing self-employment guidance and other labor opportunities for women in remote villages.



Concluding his visit, Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the operations at AzerGold CJSC, noting the company’s contribution to the economic development of Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector and the socio-economic improvement of the Ganja-Dashkasan region through enhanced employment opportunities.
