Ammunition Explosion in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli District Injures Local Resident


FUZULI, Azerbaijan — An ammunition explosion in Zargar village, Fuzuli District, resulted in injuries to a local resident on August 24, 2024, according to a joint statement from the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor General’s Office, and Azerbaijan National Agency of Mine Action (ANAMA).



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, The victim, identified as Aslanov Raju Murad, born in 1978, was engaged in construction work in an area not yet cleared of mines and other unexploded ordnances when the incident occurred. While Murad sustained various injuries, officials confirmed that his life is not in danger. This incident underscores the ongoing risks in areas recently liberated from occupation, highlighting the need for comprehensive mine clearance efforts.
