APA Journalism School Celebrates First Graduating Class with Certificate Ceremony


Baku: Certificates were presented to the first graduates of the APA Journalism School project, which is a project of APA Media Group. The event marked a significant milestone for the budding journalists who completed the three-month program aimed at nurturing new media professionals.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Vusala Mahirgizi, the General Director of APA Media Group, addressed the graduates during the ceremony. She emphasized the program’s objective to initiate training for journalists capable of working with professional and operational standards in the evolving media landscape. Mahirgizi acknowledged that while journalistic expertise grows over time, starting in the right environment with ample opportunities is crucial for a journalist’s future growth. Out of the 20 participants, five have already secured positions within APA Media Group, and two others have joined different media organizations, which she described as a gratifying outcome.



Mahirgizi also expressed her gratitude to Gabil Abbasoghlu, the head of the APA Journalism School, for his efforts in organizing the project. She acknowledged the contributions of TV journalist Ilgar Alfi and other experienced journalists and writers who shared their insights and experiences with the students. Looking ahead, Mahirgizi announced the continuation of the school with the next training sessions set to begin in April, envisioning the school’s recognition through its numerous graduates.



Gabil Abbasoghlu, the head of the APA Journalist School, congratulated the graduates, reaffirming APA’s commitment to supporting them in their careers. He reflected on the journey over the past three months, underscoring journalism as a challenging profession. Abbasoghlu shared his own learning experience alongside the students, encouraging them to maintain a habit of learning and exploration.



TV journalist Ilgar Alfi, who was instrumental in the training, advised graduates on the importance of controlling their ambitions in the journalism field. He expressed his willingness to continue supporting the graduates in their professional endeavors.



Bahaddin Haziyev, editor-in-chief of “Bizim Yol” newspaper, praised the establishment of the journalism school, describing APA as a nurturing ground for media professionals. He underscored the importance of fostering learning and research skills as foundational goals of education.



Writer Sharif Aghayar, who contributed by teaching editing techniques, congratulated the students for their choice to start their journalism journey at APA. He stressed the significance of systematic and professional news work.



Journalist Konul Jafarli, who provided training on TV journalism, and TV journalist Rovshana Aghasafgizi, both expressed their satisfaction with the program. They highlighted APA as a rare environment conducive to a journalist’s growth and encouraged graduates to continuously seek knowledge.



Ilkin Naib, a graduate who has already begun working with APA Information Agency, spoke on behalf of his peers, expressing gratitude to APA Media Group for the opportunity. He shared his positive experiences from the training and work environment, noting the supportive and educational atmosphere at APA.



Nurshan Guliyev, the editor-in-chief of APA Media Group, congratulated the graduates and discussed the risks and rewards of establishing the school. He expressed pride in APA’s legacy of nurturing journalists and assured ongoing support for the graduates’ future careers.



The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduates, marking the end of a successful training period.
