Baku: The first meeting on consular affairs between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands was held on June 22 in The Hague. The discussions focused on various issues of mutual interest, including the current state and prospects of consular cooperation, visa policy, and collaboration in fields such as labor, internal affairs, justice, and legal assistance.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Dutch delegation was headed by Jeroen Roodenburg, Director for Consular Affairs and Visa Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides agreed to establish a bilateral cooperation mechanism to further develop relations in the consular field.

During the delegation's meeting with officials from the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, discussions included migration, readmission, and other related topics, with both parties exchanging relevant experience.

On June 23, the Azerbaijani delegation met with the heads of the offices of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Netherlands.

The following day, the delegation was received by Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH). During this meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation was briefed on the organization's activities, and both sides exchanged views on Azerbaijan's implementation of international conventions administered by the HCCH, as well as prospects for further cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization.
