Baku: Azerbaijan and Pakistan are deliberating on expanding their military collaboration, with discussions focusing on new avenues for cooperation in military, technical, and educational spheres. The talks took place during the visit of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, to Azerbaijan, where he met with Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Azerbaijani Minister of Defense, as announced by the Ministry of Defense.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Pakistani delegation commenced their official visit by honoring the martyrs at the Alley of Shehids in Baku. Following the ceremonial protocol at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense, which included a guard of honor and the signing of the Book of Honor, discussions were held to explore the strengthening of military ties. Colonel General Hasanov emphasized the foundational camaraderie between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, underscoring the importance of developing bilateral and trilateral military cooperation, particularl

The talks also touched on the current operational situation along the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional border, a topic of mutual strategic interest. General Mirza acknowledged the warm hospitality extended to his delegation and highlighted the critical role of reciprocal visits in bolstering military relations between the two nations. Additionally, he congratulated Azerbaijan on its upcoming Victory Day on November 8.
Also present at the discussions was Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Pakistan. The meeting delved into potential collaborations in various military fields and other mutual interests. Furthermore, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, the First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, later met with the Pakistani delegation to discuss the current status and future strengthening of military cooperation between the two countries.
