Azerbaijan and Serbia Strengthen Energy Ties Through Strategic Meetings

Baku: Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, recently held a meeting with Dubravka edovic Handanovic, Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy. The meeting highlighted the critical role of high-level relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia's leaders in enhancing strategic cooperation between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the officials underlined the significance of the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between Azerbaijan and Serbia. This meeting, co-chaired by the Presidents of both countries in Belgrade this past February, and the agreement to construct a gas turbine power plant in Serbia, have significantly contributed to advancing energy cooperation. They also emphasized the importance of the first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Energy Cooperation, which took place in March.

The discussions between the ministers focused on collaboration in various sectors including oil and gas, energy infrastructure, electric energy production, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and heat supply. It was noted that Azerbaijan had exported 444.6 million cubic meters of natural gas to Serbia over the past two years. Additionally, the meeting reviewed cooperation in the 'Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor' project, which aims to bolster energy links between the regions.

Minister Parviz Shahbazov extended an invitation to the Serbian delegation to participate in the events slated to occur during the Baku Energy Week, further cementing the commitment to energy collaboration between the two countries.
