Azerbaijan Conducts Humanitarian Aid Campaigns Across Multiple Countries During Ramadan

Baku: In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, large-scale humanitarian assistance activities were carried out in several countries during Ramadan this year, supported by the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed APA. Iftar tables and food package distributions were among the primary initiatives.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, food packages were delivered to 150 families in refugee camps in Afghanistan and to orphaned children at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia. Iftar gatherings were also organized at several locations including the 'Sunday' Thalassemia Center in Pakistan, the 'Khalid ibn Walid' Mosque in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and in Gambia and Guinea-Bissau.

The events, coordinated with Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions in the respective countries, aimed to support low-income groups in Muslim-majority societies. These initiatives align with Azerbaijan's commitment to high moral values, humanism, and multiculturalism, and cover regions within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.
