Baku: A procedure for conducting digital investigations will be established, APA reports. This new initiative is part of a chapter proposed to be added to the Law on Information, Informatization, and Protection of Information, which was discussed at a session of the Milli Majlis.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft outlines that the Digital Investigation Center will conduct risk-based assessments of cyber incidents occurring at information infrastructure facilities. The center will then decide which incidents require digital investigations. Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) may assist the Digital Investigation Center in these investigations.
The integrity of information obtained by CERTs or the Digital Investigation Center must be preserved during digital investigations. It is crucial to prevent any alteration, deletion, or falsification of such information. The investigations will adhere to international cybersecurity standards, ensuring the use of compliant methods and tools.
The draft law was successfully put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
