Azerbaijani Diaspora Activists in Sweden Celebrate Success of Youth Summer Camp in Zangilan

Baku: Azerbaijani diaspora activists from Sweden have praised the 7th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, held in Zangilan from August 2 to 8. The event, a collaborative effort between the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, attracted 123 participants from 64 countries, including three students from leading Swedish universities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Gulnisa Ibrahimova, one of the participants, described the camp as a meaningful experience. She highlighted the diverse programs focusing on Zangilan and urban planning and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to explore different parts of Garabagh, including spending a night in Lachin. Ibrahimova noted that meeting Azerbaijani public figures and visiting historical sites like Shusha and the Khudafarin Bridge enriched her understanding of the region's history and development prospects. The camp also offered a chance to connect with the families of Azerbaijani martyrs, leaving a lasting emotional impact on her.

Fidan Ahmadli, Vice President of the Sweden Students Alumni Network Azerbaijan (SSANA), emphasized that the camp was a unique opportunity for young Azerbaijanis to deepen their connection with their homeland. She found the visit to Garabagh University and interactions with military personnel particularly inspiring. Ahmadli was moved by the presentation of photojournalist Reza Deghati, which featured captivating stories behind his photographs. She concluded that the camp was more than just a social project; it was a spiritual journey that strengthened her patriotic feelings and professional network.

Masuma Rustamli, Youth Coordinator at the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Sweden, expressed honor in participating in a panel discussion during the camp. The discussion focused on the goals and future plans of diaspora youth, highlighting the importance of unity among young Azerbaijanis worldwide. Rustamli emphasized the need for diaspora youth to maintain cultural values and represent Azerbaijan proudly in their countries of residence.

The camp reinforced the participants' ties to Azerbaijan and fostered a sense of pride and unity among young diaspora members, leaving them with valuable experiences and lasting memories.
