Baku: Azerbaijan’s daily crude oil production averaged 450 thousand barrels in the second quarter, marking a 4.3% decline compared to the same period in 2024.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this decrease also represents a 4.3% drop from the first quarter of the current year.
The report highlights that in the second quarter of the previous year and the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan’s daily oil production was at the level of 470 thousand barrels. Last year’s average daily production stood at 480 thousand barrels, indicating a consistent decline in output.
The data also provides insight into the performance of OPEC+ countries, an initiative including both OPEC and non-OPEC members aimed at managing oil production levels. In the second quarter of this year, the average daily crude oil production among OPEC+ countries was 35.94 million barrels, with 21.76 million barrels attributed to OPEC members and 14.19 million barrels to non-OPEC countries. Comparatively, in the second quarter of the previous year, these figures were slightly lower at 35.77 million barrels in total, with OPEC contributing 21.56 million barrels and non-OPEC countries 14.22 million barrels.
Azerbaijan’s involvement in the OPEC+ agreement reflects its commitment to coordinated production strategies amidst fluctuating global oil markets.
