Azerbaijan’s New Ambassador Begins Tenure in Iraq

BAGHDAD — Nasir Mammadov, the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iraq, has officially presented his credentials to Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, marking the beginning of his diplomatic mission in the country.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador Mammadov conveyed greetings from Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to President Rashid. The President of Iraq reciprocated with his own greetings for the President of Azerbaijan and extended congratulations to Ambassador Mammadov on his new appointment, wishing him success in his diplomatic endeavors.

The meeting between the two officials also included discussions on various aspects of bilateral cooperation. They explored avenues for furthering ties between Azerbaijan and Iraq in economic, trade, political, and humanitarian domains. Additionally, they engaged in a comprehensive dialogue on various topics of shared interest aimed at continuing the positive trajectory of the bilateral relationship.
