BAKU: The final stage of a social project competition aimed at enhancing women’s participation in public life has concluded with Azercell announcing its support for four transformative initiatives. The competition sought projects that focus on sustainability, broad social impact, and the integration of digital solutions to enhance quality of life.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the competition saw over 30 projects submitted, with five making it to the final round. These initiatives emphasized key areas such as entrepreneurship, education, and economic empowerment, and were presented by non-governmental and non-profit organizations to a jury that evaluated their societal significance.
The jury selected four impactful projects for support:
– The ‘STEM education support for talented young women from low-income families,’ presented by the ‘Huma Qusu’ Education Assistance Foundation, aims to aid women at various educational levels including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies.
– ‘Women and b
usiness,’ organized by the Balans Public Association from Sheki, provides practical entrepreneurship experience for women.
– The initiative ‘Establishing a network of women entrepreneurs within correctional facilities’ by the ‘Return of Convicted Women to Society’ Public Association focuses on integrating women entrepreneurs within the correctional system.
– ‘FarmHER,’ a project by the ‘Alternative Communications and Research’ Public Association, is dedicated to enhancing agricultural knowledge and skills among women.
Azercell has committed a total of 30,000 AZN to support the implementation of these projects, highlighting its dedication to fostering women’s roles in society.
The competition ensured a transparent and objective selection process, with entries evaluated by a panel of Azerbaijani experts in relevant fields.
