Baku: The main planning conference of the 'Shield of Peace 2026' military exercise took place in Baku, with participation from servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces. The Ministry of Defense informed AZERTAC about the event held on December 25.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference organized at the Ministry of Defense saw military delegations from both countries engage in discussions on the exercise's objectives. The 'Shield of Peace 2026' exercise is scheduled to be held in the UAE in February 2026. Participants deliberated on the activities planned for successive phases and other associated concerns.

During the event, briefings were given on the tasks planned for the upcoming exercise, and questions of mutual interest were addressed. The visit of the UAE delegation also included a tour of several military units of the Azerbaijan Army. Delegates received detailed information about the conditions at these units and the training levels of the servicemen.
