Baku Launches Inaugural International Youth Forum on Environmental Policy

BAKU – The city of Baku has inaugurated the International Youth Forum, a platform focused on “Supporting environmental policy through young leaders,” bringing together a diverse group of young leaders and environmental advocates from across the globe.

According to Trend News Agency, the forum has attracted 24 young leaders from 18 different countries and over 60 leaders of youth organizations from within Azerbaijan. Participants include government representatives, experts, and notable figures from various fields who will engage in panel discussions and collaborative sessions over the next few days.

The event is set to cover a range of pressing topics including climate change, environmental sustainability, and the expansion of eco-volunteering. Panel discussions will provide a venue for these young leaders to exchange ideas with their Azerbaijani counterparts and explore effective strategies in environmental advocacy.

Additionally, the forum will emphasize international cooperation and experience sharing among youth leaders from countries such as France, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Spain, and several Eastern European and Central Asian nations. One of the key objectives is to bolster international public support for upcoming environmental summits like COP29 and to enhance global awareness of Azerbaijan’s environmental initiatives.

The Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the Azerbaijan Democratic Student Youth Organization, and the National Council of Youth Organizations are the main supporters of this forum, highlighting their commitment to fostering a global dialogue among young leaders. The forum is scheduled to continue until September 13, with various meetings and discussions planned with officials from government institutions and non-governmental organizations.
