Claudio Bravo Retires from Professional Football After Two Decades

Chilean football icon Claudio Bravo has announced his retirement following a distinguished 21-year career that included 22 major trophies, according to reports by Yahoo Sports. Bravo, who began his career at Colo Colo in Chile, later became a significant figure in both La Liga and the English Premier League.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bravo expressed his decision to step away from professional play: “I’m going to quit professional football. It’s time to close a very important cycle in my life and begin another stage that will surely be just as successful.” His tenure at Barcelona was notably successful, where he was part of the 2014-2015 treble-winning team under coach Luis Enrique. Before joining Barcelona, Bravo captained Real Sociedad, leading the team back to La Liga and into Champions League contention. Despite his success, Bravo did not play in Champions League matches during his stint with Barcelona.
