Istanbul: On June 8, a significant meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili. This meeting was held within the framework of the 10th trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye in Istanbul.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's X account reported that the discussions between the two ministers focused on reviewing the current state and future prospects of the Azerbaijan-Georgia strategic partnership. The dialogue emphasized the importance of maintaining a close political dialogue, fostering strong economic ties, and enhancing cooperation in critical sectors such as energy, transport, and regional connectivity.
The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, highlighting the increasing strategic importance of the South Caucasus region as a vital corridor connecting Europe and Asia. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing joint projects, including the Southern Gas Corridor, the Middle Corridor, and other connectivity initiatives. These projects are crucial for contributing to regional stability, ensuring energy security, and promoting sustainable economic development.
