Baku: Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation among countries to ensure regional strategic resilience. Speaking at the International Conference on 'C6: One Region, Shared Future - Enhancing Strategic Dialogue' held in Baku, Shafiyev outlined the critical role of connectivity, diversification, and regional cooperation based on common interests in fortifying strategic resilience.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Shafiyev highlighted that Azerbaijan's foreign policy over the past six years has been a testament to this reality. By engaging with Asian institutions and expanding strategic alliances, Azerbaijan has strengthened its eastern vector while maintaining constructive relationships with the United States and European partners.
Shafiyev pointed out that Central Asia should be considered a natural partner for Azerbaijan due to shared history and culture. However, he underlined that it is the fields of geoeconomics-encompassing energy, transportation, logistics, and infrastructure-that currently define this partnership. With traditional assumptions of stability in the broader Eurasian region no longer holding true, these connections have gained newfound importance.
