Heydar Aliyev Center Hosts Lorenzo Quinn’s ‘Equilibrium in Nature’ Exhibition.

Baku: The Heydar Aliyev Center unveiled an exhibition by esteemed Italian monumental sculptor Lorenzo Quinn, Trend reports, ahead of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku. Titled “Equilibrium in Nature,” the exhibition underscores environmental concerns and promotes a profound understanding of nature’s significance.

According to Trend News Agency, the exhibition’s opening was marked by Heydar Aliyev Center Director Anar Alakbarov’s gratitude toward Lorenzo Quinn for organizing the exhibition swiftly. Alakbarov emphasized the Center’s history of showcasing Italian sculptors and artists, highlighting Quinn’s impressive sculptures brought to Azerbaijan in conjunction with COP29. He expressed optimism that conference attendees would appreciate these artworks and announced forthcoming events at the Center.

Exhibition curator Olga Daniele, founder of 365 Art, commended the Center for its high-level organization of the event. She praised
Quinn’s sculptures for embodying themes of love, compassion, and environmental care, each reflecting the artist’s exceptional vision and skill.

Lorenzo Quinn shared his admiration for Baku’s beauty and the city’s anticipation of COP29. He expressed joy in displaying his work in such a remarkable venue, emphasizing that his sculptures symbolize nature’s power. Quinn stated, “We must love Earth. Just as a mother cares for her child, so must we care for Earth. There’s no other place for us to live.”

The exhibition opened with Quinn’s “Union of Love,” advocating for mutual affection and support to nurture harmony and lasting human connections. The Heydar Aliyev Center’s park and lobby will host Quinn’s sculptures until May 11, 2025, featuring pieces like “A Balanced World,” “Hand of God,” “Give and Take,” and “Together” in the plaza, while “Eros,” “Parallel Universe,” and “Love Yourself” are displayed in the lobby.

“Love Yourself” emphasizes self-love and sharing it with the world to illuminate the righteous p
ath. “In Perspective” highlights the fragility of our world relative to the vast universe, urging viewers to adopt a broader perspective.

The iconic “Hand of God,” dedicated to Quinn’s son, portrays a man resting on a supportive hand, symbolizing the challenges faced by today’s youth. This hand motif recurs in Quinn’s work, representing emotions from love to destruction.

“Together,” initially shown near the Great Pyramid of Giza, has traveled from Cannes to Dubai before arriving in Baku. The sculpture depicts hands symbolizing both creation and destruction, with Quinn asserting that our destiny lies in our hands.

“Force of Nature” showcases a strong yet delicate woman, symbolizing Mother Nature. This series has graced iconic global locations, becoming a hallmark of Quinn’s career.

“A Balanced World” conveys the idea that balance is achievable only through mutual support, despite apparent differences. The “Give and Take” piece, adored worldwide, emphasizes the necessity of balance in life and nature.
