TEHRAN — Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared Tehran’s intention to retain its right to respond to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, during conversations with European counterparts, as reported by Trend.
According to Trend News Agency, Araghchi emphasized that the assassination threatens Iran’s sovereignty and reiterated Iran’s readiness to foster constructive ties with France. Meanwhile, in discussions with Britain’s David Lammy, Araghchi expressed Iran’s desire to avoid a major conflict in the Middle East, yet reaffirmed its right to defend against any aggression. Lammy urged Iran to aid in deescalating regional tensions.
