Kazakhstan and Germany Advance Agricultural and Educational Collaboration

ASTANA — Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Kanat Bozumbayev, engaged in comprehensive discussions with German officials and business leaders to enhance cooperation in agriculture and education, as reported by Trend, citing the government’s press service.

According to Trend News Agency, Bozumbayev met with several key figures including Jens Brandenburg of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Claudia Müller of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Discussions with Brandenburg focused on potential collaborations for training professionals in water management, with the German side indicating a willingness to partner with Kazakhstan’s new National University of Water Management and Irrigation in Taraz. Meanwhile, talks with Müller explored avenues for introducing Kazakh agro-industrial and organic products into the German market.

The meetings underscored Germany’s role as a crucial agricultural partner for Kazakhstan. Both nations agreed to develop the Concept of the Regional Center for Sustainable Agriculture in Central Asia, an initiative spearheaded by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his visit to Germany in September 2023.
