JABRAYIL – A new soft drink production complex in Jabrayil is set to employ about 300 residents who have returned to their ancestral lands, marking a significant economic development in this region of Azerbaijan, recently liberated from occupation.
According to Trend News Agency, Yalchin Khalilov, a representative of Azersun Holding, discussed the project’s details with reporters, noting the facility’s substantial production capabilities. The complex will produce an annual output of 250 million PET bottles and 350 million aluminum cans, encompassing a range of beverages such as carbonated and non-carbonated water, iced tea, iced coffee, lemonades, and natural fruit juices.
The production process is structured in two stages, with the initial focus on carbonated and non-carbonated water, followed by the production of lemonades, iced tea, iced coffee, and natural fruit juices. “The soft drink complex will contribute to preventing the outflow of foreign exchange from our country,” Khalilov stated. He emphasized the project’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting the use of alternative energy sources, electric vehicles in parking lots, and efforts to minimize emissions.
The initiative is part of the broader ‘I State Program on Great Return to the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation,’ a government effort led by President Ilham Aliyev to revitalize and repopulate areas reclaimed during the recent conflict. The project, which saw the laying of its foundation stone by President Aliyev on October 3, represents a significant investment in the region’s future, with 35 million manat ($20.5 million) allocated for the initial stage of the soft drink complex.
