Kazakhstan and Mongolia Set Ambitious $500 Million Trade Goal.


Ulaanbaatar: Kazakhstan and Mongolia have set an ambitious target to significantly boost their trade turnover, aiming to increase the current figure from $150 million to $500 million in the near future. This announcement was made during an official visit by Kazakhstan’s President, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, to Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, where he engaged in discussions with his counterpart, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.

According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev highlighted that the two nations have reached agreements to deepen trade and economic relations, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation. He emphasized Mongolia’s importance as a neighboring country in the region, noting, “We share long-standing friendly relations, a common history, and spiritual and cultural values. It is symbolically significant for both peoples that our discussions coincide with the 800th anniversary of Ulus Dzhuchi, a key milestone in Kazakhstan’s history. In recent years, Kazakh-Mongolian relations h
ave developed dynamically.”

President Tokayev further stated that both Kazakhstan and Mongolia are among the largest countries in Asia, suggesting that their mutual trade should reflect this scale. Delegations from both countries explored prospects for joint initiatives in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transportation, logistics, and energy.

In response, President Khurelsukh underscored the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual connections between the people of Mongolia and Kazakhstan. “We reviewed our achievements over the past 30 years and engaged in a productive exchange of views on enriching our cooperation and expanding it across all areas moving forward. We jointly identified prospects, priorities, and roadmaps for our interaction,” he remarked.
