Astana: Kazakhstan has expressed its ongoing commitment to facilitate peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared during a discussion with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev reiterated Kazakhstan's willingness to use Almaty as a negotiation hub for the two nations. "Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed the readiness of the Kazakh side to continue to provide the Almaty platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the conclusion of a peace treaty," the presidential office stated. This declaration highlights Kazakhstan's role as a mediator in regional conflicts, fostering dialogue aimed at achieving a long-term peace agreement. The ongoing dialogue follows a recent meeting in May 2024, where Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, convened in Almaty to discuss terms towards a peace treaty.
