BAKU – In a recent letter celebrating Ukraine’s Independence Day, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the enduring friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, which he described as being rooted in rich traditions and mutual respect.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev’s letter outlined the solid foundation of bilateral relations formed by the historical support between the two nations. He expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations, highlighting effective collaboration, particularly in the energy sector. The president also reiterated the mutual support for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, aligning with UN Charter norms and international law. “We are committed to continuing our support and providing necessary humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine,” Aliyev wrote, recalling a recent productive meeting in the United Kingdom with his Ukrainian counterpart.
