President Ilham Aliyev Inspects Restoration Efforts in Shusha’s Kichik Galaderesi Village

Shusha: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited Kichik Galaderesi village in the Shusha district, where he inspected the ongoing restoration of individual houses and infrastructure and met with residents who have returned to the village.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, briefed the head of state on the progress of the restoration works.

The village, comprising 66 individual houses, has seen significant development. Nineteen houses are beyond repair, while 47 are being restored. Of these, 26 houses are now ready for occupancy, with an additional 21 expected to be completed next year. Currently, 15 families, totaling 51 people, have returned to the village. By the end of the year, another 11 families, consisting of 45 individuals, are anticipated to return.

A series of projects have been executed to enhance the village's social infrastructure. New gas and water lines have been installed, and an artesian well has been restored. Twenty-six houses are now connected to the water supply network. A transformer substation has been set up, overhead power lines have been restored, and a park and Flag Square have been constructed. Additionally, internal village roads have been paved.

Kichik Galaderesi village, part of the Galaderesi administrative-territorial district of the Shusha district, is located 40 kilometers southwest of the district center. The village was under Armenian control since 1992 and was restored to Azerbaijan's control following anti-terror measures in 2023. Before the occupation, the village's economy was based on livestock breeding, vegetable cultivation, and beekeeping. It was equipped with a secondary school, a kindergarten, a cultural center, a library, a medical station, and a communications office.

During his visit, President Ilham Aliyev visited the home of village resident Asad Asadov and met with residents who had returned to the village.
