President Ilham Aliyev Receives Credentials from New Congolese Ambassador.


BAKU: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivan Vangu Ngimbi, on October 31. The meeting marked a significant step in bolstering diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the credential presentation, President Aliyev engaged in a conversation with Ambassador Ngimbi, emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral relations in various sectors. While acknowledging the strong political ties between Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, President Aliyev highlighted the need for further collaboration in trade and economic areas. He also commended the successful partnership between the two countries in international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, expressing hope for continued cooperation.

Ambassador Ngimbi conveyed greetings and congratulations from
Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to President Aliyev, particularly lauding Azerbaijan’s leadership of the Non-Aligned Movement. President Aliyev reciprocated with his regards to President Tshisekedi, expressing gratitude for the greetings.

The discussion also covered potential cooperation in sectors such as education, banking, finance, mining, and security. Ambassador Ngimbi congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting COP29 and noted that President Tshisekedi would attend the event, a move welcomed by President Aliyev.
