Baku: Turkmenistan and Pakistan have agreed to significantly increase cargo transportation volumes along the China-Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan route, a move poised to strengthen trade links with China while enhancing access to Central Asia and the Caspian region. This development came to light following discussions between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
According to Trend News Agency, the meeting focused on bolstering transport and logistics cooperation, with particular emphasis on partnerships with major Pakistani logistical firms. The enhanced collaboration is part of a broader strategy to improve bilateral ties and expand economic, political, cultural, and humanitarian interactions between the two nations.
Discussions at the meeting also covered a range of other strategic partnerships, reinforcing the multifaceted relationship between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. Additionally, the Turkmen delegation’s visit coincides with their partic
ipation as guests of honor at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of Government meeting, further highlighting the diplomatic and strategic importance of their visit.
