Baku: On April 17, 2026, the global inherited bleeding disorders community will come together on World Hemophilia Day to advocate for all inherited bleeding disorders.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, this year's theme, 'Diagnosis: First step to care,' highlights the critical importance of diagnosis as the essential first step in treatment and care. The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) estimates that over three-quarters of the global population with hemophilia remain undiagnosed, with an even more significant gap for other bleeding disorders. This situation indicates that hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world still lack access to basic care.
Efforts to improve diagnostic outcomes involve strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals and enhancing laboratory effectiveness. There is a shared commitment to increase global diagnosis rates, which is a step closer to the vision of "Treatment for All."
