Yerevan: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has publicly declared that former President Robert Kocharyan is a bribe-taker, referencing a court decision in this assertion. Pashinyan emphasized that while the government has not officially labeled Kocharyan as such, the judicial system has effectively done so. This comes after Kocharyan requested the closure of a bribery case against him due to the statute of limitations, which Pashinyan suggests is an implicit admission of corruption.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Pashinyan pointed out that the court’s decision marks a significant moment for the Armenian judicial system, recording Kocharyan, who served as the second President of the Republic of Armenia, as a bribe-taker. The Prime Minister stated his intention to consistently refer to Kocharyan with this label, indicating a strong stance against the former leader’s alleged corrupt practices.
