Baku – Azerbaijan, in partnership with other nations, is poised to undertake significant initiatives to combat climate change, as announced by Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Judges, during the Law and Climate International Conference held in Baku.
According to Trend News Agency, Rzayev highlighted the conference’s focus on pressing environmental issues and their legal ramifications. He emphasized the global challenges posed by climate change, particularly its effects on human rights, lifestyles, and overall population well-being. “It is unfortunately well-known to all of us that climate change presents a serious challenge for our world,” Rzayev noted.
Azerbaijan’s commitment to international cooperation in this field is underscored by its hosting of the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP 29), a major international event that Rzayev believes will be a source of national pride. The Baku conference, co-organized with the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, aims to spotlight climate-related issues and foster awareness of the legal frameworks—both international and national—that govern these challenges.
This gathering is part of Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to engage the international community in meaningful dialogue and action to address the pressing environmental crises affecting the globe.
