Azerbaijan and Greece Advance Dialogue Through Political Consultations

Athens: The next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Greece took place in Athens on May 12. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandra Papadopoulou headed the Greek delegation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting focused on the current state of political dialogue between the two nations, highlighting the importance of regular mutual visits at various levels. Both parties emphasized the need for continued cooperation in trade, economy, humanitarian affairs, science, and education. Strategic energy and transport projects involving Azerbaijan were also discussed as potential areas for collaboration.

The consultations further included an exchange of information regarding the regional situation, specifically the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Azerbaijani side provided updates on the restoration, reconstruction, and demining efforts underway in the territories liberated from occupation. Both delegations expressed satisfaction with ongoing contacts and cooperation within international organizations.

In addition to bilateral relations, the sides exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest, underscoring a shared commitment to fostering and enhancing their diplomatic and economic ties.
