Azerbaijan Approves Trade and Transport Agreements with Pakistan


BAKU: In a significant development, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has approved three pivotal agreements signed with Pakistan, aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and transportation links. The agreements, initially signed in Islamabad, cover preferential trade, transit trade, and air transport between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President ratified the agreements through the enactment of relevant laws. The agreements include the “Agreement on Preferential Trade,” “Agreement on Transit Trade,” and “Agreement on Air Transport” between the governments of Azerbaijan and Pakistan. These accords were originally signed on July 11, 2024, in a bid to bolster economic cooperation and connectivity between the two countries.

The approval is expected to pave the way for increased trade volumes and improved transportation networks. The preferential trade agreement aims to facilitate reduced tariffs and improved market access, while the transit trade agreement is designed to streamline t
he movement of goods across borders. The air transport agreement is set to enhance aviation connectivity, potentially increasing passenger and cargo flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
