Baku: Azerbaijan has introduced new fines for individuals and entities found guilty of repeatedly burning cropland, as reported by APA. The changes are outlined in the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which have been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the updated code specifies that individuals who burn cropland can face fines ranging from AZN 400 to AZN 600. Officials may be fined between AZN 1,500 to AZN 2,000, and legal entities could incur fines from AZN 5,000 to AZN 6,000. In cases where standard fines are insufficient, administrative detention of up to one month may be imposed.
For repeat offenses committed within one year of the initial penalty, the fines increase significantly. Individuals may face fines of AZN 600 to AZN 800, officials may be fined between AZN 2,000 to AZN 2,500, and legal entities could be fined from AZN 6,000 to AZN 7,000. In repeated cases, administrative detention for one to two months could be enforced, depending on the circumstances and the offender's profile.
