Baku: Azerbaijan has taken a significant step towards enhancing its renewable energy capacity by signing agreements for the establishment of two 25 MW solar power plants in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This development was marked by a meeting at the Ministry of Energy, which saw participation from key stakeholders including Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, representatives from Azerenerji OJSC, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic's Ministry of Economy, the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, Azerbaijan Green Energy Company (AGEC), CEI Nakhchivan LLC, Nobel Energy, and Enerso LLC.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerenergy OJSC, and CEI Nakhchivan LLC formalized their collaboration on the "Shams 1" Solar Power Plant project by signing an "Investment Agreement", an "Energy Purchase and Sale Agreement", and a "Transmission Network Connection Agreement". Similarly, agreements for the 'Western Horizon' Solar Power Plant project were also signed between the Government, Azerenerji OJSC, and Enerso LLC, including an Investment Agreement, a Power Purchase Agreement, and a Grid Connection Agreement. Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov signed the investment agreements on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, while Baba Rzayev, President of Azerenerji OJSC, signed the power purchase and grid connection agreements.
